Stage 3 bedsores are one of the most severe stages of pressure sore, reaching through all layers of the skin.
Bedsores usually develop below your waist if you are bedridden, although they can occur almost anywhere on your body. Bedsores are also known as decubitus ulcer, pressure ulcer, or pressure sores. Individuals at risk for developing bed sores are those whose primary diagnosis renders them immobile, the wheelchair bound, for example, or patients confined to a bed. The most common places for bedsore are your back, ankle, hips, and buttock.
